We actually both got involved at the same time. We had a friend from our other time period that had met and become friends with our now friend Cedric, who was an Scadian. She said "Hey this is cool and kinda like what we already do, wanna give it a whirl?" We both decided, "Hey, why not?" and the rest is history.

How did you get interested in an Indian personae in the first place? And how important is it to you to develop this outside of the Yahoo Group?

I became interested in Indian culture within the SCA time frame purely by accident. Since I am such a research geek, I was going through a bunch of text and research about the origins of some of the different Middle Eastern cultures I was studying and stumbled upon the Persian/Indian link. I started reading more about the history of the migration from India to Persia and from there the formation of the Rom cultures from them later. I had always been intrigued by Indian art and textiles both from before my SCA career while finding period Indian textiles used in 18th century and Regency fashions and from a pure enjoyment of their artistic style of art. I was also a huge Mythology nut from an early age( I had all of my HS and University text books on the subject way before I got into either of them:)) and the Indian stories were always some of my favorites
