Chinese New Year, day 1

Feb 02, 2011 12:35

Today was my first day of break. I stayed home for most of the day, but around two decided to get off my lazy bum and head into Seoul for lack of anything better to do. I also wanted to check out if DNAngel was in stock. Getting Japanese manga is kind of annoying because it's about a 1 1/2 to 2 hour ride into the city, just to pick up one manga.

Before heading off to Kyobo Book Centre, I headed over to Unhyeon Palace, which was the private residence of King Gojong before he became the king. It's pretty close to Changdeok Palace, the second most popular palace in Korea. To be honest, Unhyeon was a bit disappointing. There were only three buildings we could visit, even though there were four on the premises. But the palace only cost 700 won to get in (65 cents), so really I wasn't expecting much.

Afterward I headed over to Kyobo, which was PACKED with all sorts of Koreans and other foreigners. Regardless, I made my way to the Japanese foreign book section and hurried over to the "new book table".

The manga was a bit more expensive than I thought (I forgot that the books in Seoul are a bit more expensive), but I managed to get it, which means all I really have to focus on is getting volume 12 of Yami no Matsuei when I'm in Japan (By the way, Ikasu, I saw volume 11 of 07-Ghost there, so it's out as well).

I like the fact that Krad and Satoshi are on the cover. They deserve it, especially Krad. I don't think Satoshi's been featured on a cover since volume 8. >_< And I absolutely LOVE the Dark one. Will scan when I go back to the States. For now, it's staying in the shrink wrap so it doesn't get all banged up on the way home. I swear, with all the manga and videogames I have packed in my suitcase you'd think I had come back from a week or so in Japan. XD It's great having access to Japanese stuff in Korea, though it's kinda depressing how much of a pain it is to go and get it.

In other news, Tales of Vesperia may also be licensed. If the richard site is true, we should know sometime today about what is going on with the localizing of the Tales games (if it's true or not). Until then, we can just hold our breaths and hope for the best, I guess.  To be honest, I'm kind of annoyed that Vesperia is getting licensed now since I just bought the Asian PS3 version a few weeks back. Vesperia's not really my favorite Tales game, and I've already played the 360 version 2 1/2 times. I'm planning on playing the Japanese version at least once, and now I'll have to play the game AGAIN in English on the PS3. *sighs* I haven't even played my favorite Tales game this much. XD
But oh well. Gotta support the series, right?

Sony also released pictures of the silver PS3 they're releasing. Between Vesperia and Graces' localization and now the PS3, I feel extremely trolled. >_<

So, random question: how do you know if a guy likes you or if he's just being friendly? I honestly can't tell. >_
