Ah cool! Most of these I knew already from some books I have and my predecessor, but the shoe thing was definitely helpful. My pred says we have to wear slippers in the school but that I can just buy them out there, but considering I'm a UK 7 I should probably just get a cheap pair over here and take them with me.

I'm a bit undecided on what to do concerning a laptop though. I don't have one, but my pred is looking to sell hers (it's over five years old so I can only imagine the speed, urgh), but I really want to buy a Mac. x( I won't be able to buy one until after a few pay-checks over there though... but I've heard it's expensive to get them with English keyboards?

All macs should have English keyboards. Your biggest problem will be finding a mac. Unless you go to Seoul, it's a lot harder to find one in your area.

Also, be prepared to pay through the nose. My friend got one of the cheaper macs and paid 1 million, 550 thousand won for it.

That's... actually a lot cheaper than I expected. xD I guess UK prices can be just as ridiculous. I was considering ordering off the Apple website and seeing if they'd be able to deliver to South Korea?

Oh cool, I just found the Apple website for South Korea and the one I want works out to be cheaper somehow. |D

Good to know. It's always the stuff like this that you don't think about that can make or break a vacation / stay. *grins* Didn't you say something about peanut butter when you were over here?

It's there, it's just not the kind that I like and it's super expensive. Korean's aren't into nuts, really.

Exactly, so if you really want some, bring your own. I don't eat nuts often, but I would not like it if they were so expensive I basically couldn't ever get any.

Eh? Really? Cooking spray is amazing. Right up there with crock pots and ovens. And not those portable microwave ovens they try to sell to me for hundreds of dollars at Lotte Mart. A REAL oven. I miss those.

Yes. With a name like Daiso I figured it was Japanese. Oddly enough, our version of "cheap Chinese crap" is actually from Japan. O.o

We foreigners use Daiso all the time though, mostly for dishes and bathroom stuff. I also buy my kids markers and white board markers from there.
