Like: birds, Skyward Sword, floating hometown, and art style.

Not so like: School. Childhood friend. Hasn't this come up enough already in other places?

Oh well. Hopefully the gameplay will be really solid (as is typical for Zelda) and the school bits won't be too stereotypical.

I doubt the school part will really hinder the game in any way. Knowing Nintendo they'll either pull it off right or it won't come up enough for people to care. Nintendo doesn't focus as much on other character as it does the actual action/adventure and puzzle aspect, after all. That's what separates it from an RPG. ^^
