Quite a jolt when the Disney-esque happy villagers turned out to be what they were! The Doctor ought to have known that things were too peaceful there. Nice reunion between the Doctor and Jack, I loved that Jack had to be convinced by the hard truth and not the well-meaning lie. They've both had recent experience with Too Good to be True, right?
A tiny little typo: "Have too look after your wounds"
This was quite charming and you set the Disney-esque horror mood very well! Also some extra points for going some way to redeeming Ten's attitude / relationship with Jack. Lovely.
This was absolutely brilliant!! I loved it to bits! It was so nice to see the Doctor interacting with the villagers, and enjoying their hospitality and their food. You really captured everything so perfectly, and I felt as if I were part of the fic with your beautiful descriptions

Wow, thank you so much for this awesome comment! You've made my week! :)
I really tried hard with the descriptions of the forest and village--I wanted them to come to live. So I'm really glad you mentioned that they worked! :)
Yeah, it does get a bit rough for our guys in the middle, but that only makes the ending more rewarding, right? *g* (And the homing responder is super-handy! he Doctor should build one like that! Only he never will because it'd make every episode too easy to solve. ;) )
Jack is predictable to everyone but the Doctor sometimes. ;)
It's also on AO3, btw, in case you want to bookmark it there. (I find that easier than memories, but whatever works for you. :) )

Can't get over 'porking us of our sins'. :D

Yes, they've both seen Too Good to Be True, and Jack would rather have hard but solid rock than soft and slippery sand to stand on.
Thanks for the typo pounce! :)
*g* Annie was fun to write!
Thank you for commenting, I'm glad you enjoyed the fic. (And also that you're still around! :) )
