Well, Neal thinks ahead! If Peter has to look at the index card while El is there, it being in Neal's handwriting would give the whole thing away!

(Of course, El saw through it all anyway--she knows her husband, and she knows what he's good at and what not, after all. But she didn't tell Peter she'd caught on. *g*)
