Yah, I am alive!

I made it out of surgery with (so far) no complications. The pain in my hip/leg is gone, replaced with the expected pain higher up in my back - from where they cut me open and shoved the tenderloin aside. Everything looks good right now, except for the daunting amount of drugs they've given me to take `as needed'.
