I've wanted to ask you this for a while, but never remembered: What do you think when you see 外国人 walking down the street with 汉字 tattooed on them? I saw a girl with 马 on her back. When Ia sked her about it, she said that she was born in the year of the horse. To me there still seemed something a bit odd about that...

In China, we normally don't have any tattooes at all. I can understand that in other countries people don't think that's a big deal. But If I saw a Chinese with a tattoo, I'd keep away from him/her because there's a big possibility him/her is dangerous.

For Westerners it's OK, you might see Chinese characters as another kind of picture, isn't it? I mean, Angelina Julie did it. Just understand the word you choose, and please don't choose dumb ones. XD
