This also comes from 庄子, as I recall - I'll try to remember to post a translation, once I have time: I'm going back to China on Sunday morning, so I'm incredibly busy at the moment.

I think what came from 庄子 is 肌肤若冰雪,绰约如处子. Or are you talking about 增之一分则太长,减之一分则太短?
Hope you have a good trip!

I was thinking of "毛嫱丽姬,人之所美也;鱼见之深入,鸟见之高飞,麋鹿见之决骤,四者孰知天下之正色哉?" The opposite meaning, with nearly the same words.

Hope you have a good trip!

Thanks!

I think the difference between 沉鱼落雁 and 鱼见之深入,鸟见之高飞 is the same as 万事如意 and 乐只君子,福履将之...

I have been learning Mandarin for only 6 months, but I find what you say about the language very interesting! Can I please add you as a friend?

Do you usually write in simplified or traditional characters? Because I am learning simplified, but I am still not good enough to tell which I am trying to read!

Please go ahead. Thank you!

I write in Simplified Chinese. I live in mainland China.
