Need some help/input

My hubby is going to let me upgrade on my digi. cam. I can't afford the Canon Rebel one nor the newer Nikon (heard some really good ones). The most I can invest would be around $300...what would of you that are into photography invest in if this was your budget? I would like something that has a better ISO speed than mine, the highest it can go ( Read more... )

The Canon A80 is the one that both shywickedpixie and I use. It's a 4 megapixel and is priced right around what you're looking for.

I'm with northrngirl here, as I truly have loyalty to Canon cameras. The A80 has top notch options and is affordable. It has many of the same options my Rebel has, giving you a lot of control over the shots. (Read the manual to get the most from the camera. No sense having a camera with all these options, if you're going to shoot in auto mode all the time).

My first camera was the A40 (which is long gone now) and I got great shots with it. The A80 looks pretty comparable to the G series Canon digitals.

I had the G2, which is now discontinued. I think there's a G5? Probably in the 500-600 range though.

i have to chuckle at that last statement...I'm far from being 'cool'. Just a normal housewife that does alot of rantings, lol. But sure, I don't mind.
