pre-emptive excitement

so, i actually got to sleep for more than four hours last night, and am feeling rather cheerful. :) yay! i'm almost done! there's still a bit of stuff left (work-wise, not time-wise), but i'm just too thrilled about all the fun things that await doing that, well, it's worth the temporary drudgery.

a very long post awaits you; it's but a click away ( Read more... )

The graveyards on the mountain become very beautiful around the second or third week of May as all the apple and crabapple trees burst out in bloom at the same time. It's a good walk, up the Park Avenue side of Mount Royal and then cross over through the gates into the Protestant cemetery. The Catholic cemetery is bigger but not as pretty. If you want company, I'd do this walk around that time, but if not, it's not hard to figure out.

1 - i have a whole reading list written up. perhaps unfortunately, it starts with don quixote, which may or may not kill my spirit with its sheer length. mind you, most of the books on my list are unreasonably long ( ... )

don quixote's an easy read, at least.

yeah, i run on the sidewalks - you're not allowed in outremont parks at night. anyway, that's scary.

i'd love to have dinner, but i got fat today so i'm eating strictly melons from now on. at least until later today

i'll go now...watching myself, being myself...

i've seen myself on video, and c'est tres etrange. not at all how i picture myself to be. it's like i'm watching a stranger who interests me...how's that for narcissistic? haha :)

photo software -- try picasa2...it's free. i haven't played around with it much yet, but it has lots of features to edit photos and organize them.

i think i've forgotten how to be social too. being holed up at the library for a month does that to someone, though, eh?

and yay for making things!!

and...whoa...synaesthesia IS freakin' cool!!!

:)

i always get so embarrassed and self-conscious about watching myself on video or listening to a recording of my voice. and yet it's so fascinating...and i completely understand what you mean about being interested in this other person that's actually you. it's quite surreal because our perceptions of ourselves from the inside hardly ever match the outside perception with any fidelity! ...as if no matter now well we may know ourselves from the inside, we still have no certainty about how we are being perceived on the outside. i guess that's why having other people around is good...they can act as a sort of boundary against which you can challenge or place yourself to get a feel for your exterior, so to speak. (ah, cuddling analogies ( ... )
