So, it looks like we'll be driving to Fort Lauderdale in March for a week vacation near Hollywood Beach. Anyone has anything nice or not nice to say about Hollywood Beach ( Read more... )

Well, if on your way there (or back) you need to stop 2 hrs away from NYC, you are more then welcome to drop by in Philly (we are 5 mins away from I95) :-)

1. Williamsburg in VA - a town as it was 200 ago. Worth about 4 hours of your time.

2. Drive to charleston, SC. It is a little detour but not much. Trust me, you will like it there - all southern beauty and cozyness. Well worth spending a night there.

In reality, it really depends on how long of a vacation you are taking. The drive to florida is actually terribly boring if your goal is the destination. You are going on I-95...If you have more time, you are stopping by more cool places.
I think Maryland is awesome, personally, but crabs might not be in season yet.

ha ha, I remember when I Stas and I were first planning our drive to South Carolina and I was wondering what we would do on the road for 12 hours- Liliya suggested to play games! :) We actually had a blast in the car, but the drive itself, in terms of "the scenary" did not get good until we got to the local roads...then it got really really fun though.
Thanks for the offer! We are going to Berlin in early March, so we couldn't join :(
