Funnily enough, just last month (before claims) we were traveling in Denmark, and the west and north coast are all sand beaches and dunes and little towns as far as the eye can see. Serendipity I guess! ^-^
So I used a lot of my photos from that trip as reference. The quick passing storm clouds and the way the sand turns to dunes turns to grass everywhere. The first house too, the more modern houses had large windows overlooking the sea. And almost every evening we tried to catch the sunset as it fell over the sea (though with difficulty since the wind was always quite strong XD)
The second house is supposed to be more like an older American house. Kinda... I've yet to visit America so I can only go from movies XD It's definitely not taken from Denmark because all the houses that were on the coast were more dark colored and almost never two stories, always only one floor.
If you want actual places on a map, mostly I used from Thy National park, and there you have Hanstholm, Klitmøller and little Vorupør
That's so cool - and I think it shows in the art, because there is a real sense of place. :D Denmark is on my To-Visit list - plus I have friends who live there, so I really must go sometime!
Love the windswept feel. Every piece is lovely but I especially love the color choices for the reflection in the window of the nighttime scene. Beautiful.
these are so pretty and serene! the dunes and the grass are very beachy, and i love the watercolor. (also i wouldn't have guessed you used denmark as a model. there's definitely waterfront property in the us with those kinds of dunes.)
Thank you! People with that kind of waterfront property are quite fortunate, I have to say. Be it in US or elsewhere. (if you can live with sand being everywhere always and forever. I'm still finding sand in my stuff weeks later XD)

I figured it would be a bit empty having giant windows if there's nothing to see in them, or through them! XD
