Heh, as is usual for most persons, the birthday generally except for leap year folks, falls on the same day. 2012 is significant for me in being a rollover year in Chinese Astrology. That is, that my birth year, A Year of the Dragon, is not just a dragon, but a specific dragon, aka The Water Dragon. Repetition of dragon years, occurs at specific intervals, that being every twelve years. There are twelve different animals of the Chinese Zodiac, only the dragon being a mythical one (what us myths ? how dare they ?). However, precise repetitions do not occur, at least for dragons, every twelve years, but instead every 60.
As an incidental bit of trivia, certain persons who are fascinated by the Mayan Calendar, note that it appears to end on December 20th of the year 2012, which is of course, also my birthday. Like most mythology, it is more or less fascinating but is otherwise somewhat variable in actual useful meaning. Even so, in some quarters, considerable significance has been attached by some folks to this date. In the more

In the Zodiac I am a Water RatjharishJanuary 22 2008, 14:08:49 UTC
Which makes us somehow compatible as business partners, friends and mates.
The flip side is that I tend to buy into Chinese horoscopes more than Western. Only by slight. I found as I grew up I became more and more like the person described in the books as a "Water Rat" even though I wasn't really trying.
This year is MY year, it is once again Year of the Rat. My third since I was born. Each year has always produced a great deal of change in my life and I'm excited about what this year holds for me!
"According to some sources, whatever its significance or insignificance, today is the eve of either an ending, a beginning, both or just more of the same."
Wow! That just made me laugh. I'll have to remember it!
I also happen to have a real immitation jade Aztec calendar buried in my closet...somewhere.
And I really like your User Info page! The trading card thing is really nifty and also made me laugh.
Also, can I ask you a question? Are you the same Yao Chi I often see on deviantArt? Because your dragon looks familiar.
As far as I know, I am the only Yao Chi online listed mostly as a dragon, but on occasion as a serpent, a fish or a qilin.
You can do an image search of Yao Chi or Yaochi and you will likely find a SMALL sampling of the Yao Chi images that are out there.
Last time I counted, and that was actually several years ago, there were more than 150 renderings of me from a plethora of sources. There have proven in the past to be images that I do not even know about until someone stumbles upon them and points them out to me.
