Ok, I lied, more questions.

How do I make it so that I get some sort of message, either here or by email, letting me know when other peeps update? D: Most sites do this automatically, but LJ hasn't, and I don't know how to fix this predicament. Help?

And I know you can set it to email updates somehow, but I am not sure since I've never bothered with that myself. :/ Hope the friendspage will do, though!

the option for comment alert via e-mail should be somewhere in the Journal Settings department.
You just need to zip around the Journal Settings and similar options...I don't know exactly where it is but I know it's in there somewhere.

Although I know that for some reason (at least for me) I stopped getting e-mail alerts for comments. Don't know why.

Oh, well, I get email alerts for comments, but not like journal updates from other peeps. D: Like, if you post a journal, I would rather like to get an email letting me know of this update.

I don't know if there's an option for that...I'd suggest just exploring Journal Settings some more. But overall I'd just advise keeping good tabs on your flist.
