Writing: Misogyny and Misandy

 I like to hang out at NoneAreAngels where we've had some interesting talks about misogyny and misandry. Which got me thinking about both subjects in the media and how they might unintentionally be in the same story. Here's what I mean...

The whole strip has a lot of manipulative undertones when you think about it. Then again, there is that manipulative streak with the "Nice Guy" shctick (when they're not whining or some may even stalk). If you ever read the original For Better or For Worse comic strip series, you might remember Anthony and his whining about, "I have no home" when Liz refused to be a home-wrecker (his mistress). I also can't help remembering the crap Nitz from Undergrads pulled by deciding that by playing the supportive friend to his object of affection, she'd eventually have no choice but to fall for him after one too many bad dates.
