003; there's no other way when it comes to the truth

Jan 19, 2008 03:14

I saw a lot of people doing this on various journaling sites and I thought it was a clever idea, allowing people to know who you are beyond the typing that you do. So, let's call this an introduction post;

I was born Lauren Jane Geier on March 29th, 1988 at 11:28PM, making me both an Aries and a Dragon. I was born and raised in the state of New Jersey and for the most part, I rarely travel outside of the state. As for the name, I despise it due to its sudden popularity, so I choose to get mostly by Kei, though I have been given different nicknames by various different people, so I don't much mind. I just grew to hate the name because I grew up with so many Laurens. I’m currently 9 years old and I still don’t have a driver’s liscence, which is apparently odd for someone my age. I would like to drive at some point, but I refuse to get a liscence without a car. I digress; I'm single and the topic of sexuality is very touchy subject with me, so I'd rather keep that hushhush. Appearence wise, I'm roughly 5'6" and what they lovingly refer to as morbidly obese and my weight is a little known secret. I have reddish/brown hair [auburn] which, right now, reaches my mid-back and blue/gray eyes. In truth, my eyes are the only part of my appearence that I truly like. My lineage is German, Irish and Swedish but I refer to myself as an 'adopted Italian' as I've spent enough time around full-blooded Italian, taking in both their history and their room, hence where that term came from. I guess you can call it a trait, but I have a stutter that I've had since I was in elementry school and I despise it. I trip up on my words, bite my lip and try to force it out and it's embarrassing and bothersome. That's one of the reasons why I'm not too fond of talking on the telephone. I'm a high school graduate, Clifton High School Class of 2006, and I have yet to enroll in any sort of college. In time...in time. Oh, and I have a tattoo. ♥

Family wise, I'm the baby out of my entire immediate family. There's my father, Peter and my mother, Linda, who are currently going through the process of getting a divorce. There's my older brother, Phil and my two oldest half-siblings from my father's previous marriage, Sandy and Peter. As far as I know, I only have one uncle, and that's father's twin brother, Joe. Otherwise, there's Mark, my mother's boyfriend who is only 7 years older then me, so I would like you kindly to refrain from calling him my 'step-father'. Even if my mother and him do get married, I refuse to call him that. I already have a father who is my world and I don't need another one. In our little family, we have three dogs [Buster, Busta and Micky] and three cats [Marky, Bazzy, and Pumpkin] along with a guinea pig that Mark almost never takes care of. Now, don't get me wrong; I don't hate Mark. We've had this outstanding brawl going on for almost...5-6 years now and he does make my mother happy, I'll never understand why, but he does, so he's alright in my book.

Personality wise, I am very much the poster child for an Aries. They are described as being direct, forthcoming, curious and energetic, and are also said to be exploring new areas and quickly getting bored and moving on, leaving a lot of unfinished projects, which is me, almost perfectly. Strengths of an Aries include being independent, generous and courageous while their weaknesses pertain to being moody, short-tempered, self-involved, impulsive and impatient. The Dragon personality also fits me rather well, being vibrant, flamboyant, forgiving, protective and dramatic, as well as being hot-headed, demanding, quick-tempered, blunt, aggressive and at times, insensitive. Besides what the horoscopes tell me, I know I cry very easily and I'm overly sensitive. Because of past experiences, I will get into these funks where I just feel worthless and overly depressed. Sad to admit, but these are normal. I, for the most part, have a very short attention span, not by choice, let me tell you...sometimes, I think I'm bi-polar because of how frequently my mood can shift from laughter to tears and it is rather devastating to keep going through. But, this is me, I suppose...♥

I love to write and in turn, I do enjoy reading, but it's getting harder and harder to find books that captivate me. A lot of topics I like reading about are overwritten and overdone, hence I have no desire to want to read anything only having that to go on. The last book I said I loved was The Outsiders by S.E.Hinton and I read that in 8th grade. It's sad...that I can't find a simple book that I can read. I began reading a certain series that is very popular among my friends and I dropped it half-way because of its simplistic writing and its horrible character development. So, I'm very picky when it comes to what I read. I plan to write the books I long to see on shelves, things that aren't cliché and that can satisfy finicky readers like myself. That's my goal. My writing journal is thelastname. Poetry, which is something I haven't dabbled in for such a long while, is located here, at my Deviantart.

Music is a huge part of my life. I'm very diverse in my tastes and I like anything from rock and pop to rap and country. Right now, my musically addicting obsessions are Within Temptation, Korn, Evanescence, Eminem, P!nk, t.A.T.u, Maroon 5, Panic! At The Disco, Fallout-Boy, Nickelback and so many more. I also love, without a shadow of a doubt, musicals. I have only seen two musicals on Broadway, Phantom of the Opera and RENT but on the silver screen, I've seen Sweeney Todd; The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, RENT, Phantom of the Opera, The Little Shop of Horrors, Moulin Rouge and the Rocky Horror Picture Show. When it comes to Broadway, I'm anticipating seeing Avenue Q, Hairspray, The Little Mermaid and Wicked. I even dream of one day being able to perform there, but...pipe dream, you know? I adore singing, but I know I don't have enough practice or experience. Until then, I'm pretty content with watching people do their jobs with grace. Thus far, my favorite Broadway performer is Adam Pascal, who played Roger in RENT and Radames in Aida.

When it comes to movies, I'm a horror and comedy obsessive, as well as musicals and animation. Some of my favorite movie are The Crow, Billy Madison, The Benchwarmers, Child's Play, Saw, Secret Window, Pirates of the Caribbean, and many, many more. Spreading into the wonderful world of Disney, my favorite Disney movie now and forever is The Lion King, followed by The Little Mermaid, Beauty & the Beast, Aladdin and more. Disney has always been a huge part of my life and it always will be. When it comes to the theme park, my favorite rides include Space Mountain, Thunder Mountain, Expedition Evereast, and Pirates of the Caribbiean. My favorite actors are Johnny Depp and Adam Sandler and my favorite actress is Mandy Moore.

Television wise, I'm big into cartoons/animation, such as Spongebob Squarepants, Arthur [Yes, Arthur], Family Guy, The Simpsons and South Park, however, some of my other favorite shows are Degrassi; The Next Generation, The Amazing Race, Hell's Kitchen, Roseanne, The Golden Girls, and The George Lopez Show. I'm really not into the VH1/MTV shows like Shot of Love, I Love NY and things like that. It's just not my style. I will watch American Idol on occasion, but the only reality show I'll watch is the Amazing Race and Survivor with my mother.

I ♥ video games! Currently, Cooking Mama 2 and Pokémon LeafGreen are in my Nintendo DS, but I also love Kingdom Hearts, Phoenix Wright, Trauma Center, Final Fantasy [Mostly X and X-2, as I haven't played VII], Magna Carta, DDR, Yu-Gi-Oh, amongst others.

Now, the big one; anime and manga! First off, I'm big into yaoi, however I love hetero and yuri as well, and yes, I do watch hentai. My first animes were the stereotypical ones, Pokémon and Digimon. Shockingly enough, I didn't see Sailor Moon until I was 17. If you'd like to call them my 'main fandoms' anime wise, they would be Yu-Gi-Oh, Death Note, Tenjho Tenge, Full Moon Wo Sagashite, Loveless, Gantz, Gravitation, D.N.Angel, Fruits Basket and a dozen more. I also love E's Otherwise, Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne, KaleidoStar, Peacemaker Kurogane, Card Captor Sakura and too many more to name. Voice actor favorites are Ogata Megumi, Dan Green, Vic Mignogna, Wayne Grayson, Chris and Greg Ayres and Eric Stuart. Manga series I adore are Gentlemen's Alliance, NANA, Millennium Snow, Hero Heel, Ouran High School Host Club, Sensual Phrase, Tsubasa and more that I can't even remember. My favorite mangakas are Arina Tanemura, Makoto Tateno and Mayu Shinju.

Hmmm...and some other random facts about me. I love the Care Bears, my favorite being Grumpy Bear. I also love the My Little Ponies. I do have 'slight' asthma and am in need of an inhaler. I should be wearing glasses but I broke them nearly 8 years ago and never got them replaced. I hate homophobes and bullies, as I've been picked on almost all my life. I dream of playing the guitar. I make graphics which are posted at objection_. I cosplay and I am determined to cosplay all 13 members of Organization XIII as well as Hobo!Phoenix. I really love stand-up comedy and my favorite comedians are Dane Cook, John Pinette, Pablo Fransisco, George Lopez and Robin Williams. My favorite pizza topping is pepperoni. I like Pepsi more then Coke. And...I think that's it. If you want to know anything else, please don't hesitate to ask. ♥
