Grrrr for inconsiderate seatmates (and, for that matter, unresponsive conference organizers)!

Yay for the fabulous Schiphol airport, though, complete with strong coffee and comfy sleeper chairs. And a double yay for 19 whole days between plane flights...

The difficulty people seem to have being courteous in crowded and uncomfortable situations baffles me. Airplanes, jammed subway cars, etc. There's a sad lack of the "we're all in this together, so let's make it as pleasant as possible" attitude.

Oh well.

BTW, not related, but why not. The photo of Laurel's tatoo got me poking around Mr. Beck's photo archive, and I love the portrait of you that's there in the birthday party section.
