Light holiday reading

Sequentially: Perdido Street Station, The Scar and Iron Council all take place in the same world, as a loose series; I find The Scar to be the superior of the three, opinions may vary.

Un Lun Dun is for kids, but not so's you'd notice.

Kraken is a masterpiece, and standalone.

Scar definitely published first; it's been a long time since I read Iron Council, but I thought it postdated the events of Scar.

Da. Scar takes place very shortly after Perdido, Iron Council takes place several years later and references some Scar events.

Read Ulysses by James Joyce. Ok, not light reading, but you'd
only need to take one book. Or maybe two books, since you
should take one of the "how to understand Ulysses" books :-)
