ugh..i just went to start my feature story for my intro to journalism class and my tape recorder is not working. i recorded my interview this morning but now it wont play back. I am so pissed. it is going to make this story so much harder. and im going to get points taken off for not having the recording. I hate school and school work. and the sad

you HAVE to have a recording? that's not fair! not everyone records all their stories! honestly, in the newsroom i work in me and one other girl are the only people who even OWN recorders. i've gotten to the point i only take mine with me on breaking news since i've learned to depend more on my own notes for features and such. the recorder kind of became a hassle. in real life you don't get in trouble for not having a recording...tell your teacher he/she isn't helping you learn the real world by taking points off!

I know right. the reporter i shadowed didn't use one either. its so annoying. we used one in class and we spent most of the time rewinding and fast forwarding. he claims we need it for "exact quotes"--im a good writer and im gonna be really mad if he takes points off for it. gahh..professors are so dumb sometimes.
