if you don't have fish sauce, ketchup is the easiest route to phad thai.

I hope to only post about food and/or smoking EVER AGAIN. Okay. Maybe about rivers and stuff. Somehow I only just realized that LJ is not about FEELINGS, it's about FOOD AND SMOKING.

Okay, but before I go solely nutrients'n'nicotine-- I am listening to Howe Gelb's "Can't Help Falling in Love" and I think I'm gonna die of heartsickness. Haha.

is this your chinese roommate? because the chinese love their ketchup. when my dad's friend, the nobel-prize nominee chinese poet, pulled me aside one evening at a classy dinner one night during a visit simply to profess the glory of ketchup and plain rice noodles, I knew the love affair must be great.

no, I WISH. i had a pair of fluevogs that i'd bought used last year, but the heel wore down all funky. only after i gave them to the blind did i realize that they could have been resoled. who knew? i feel silly, 'cause i loved those boots. these ones i just got are honest-to-god real-live cowboy boots. hopefully they'll be just as comfy!
