Y'all know I'm more of a reader than a poster here, so imagine my surprise to receive multiple "achievement" notifications from LJ - including from a Dark Shadows role-playing account from more than a few years ago. Just got one from this account. On the former, I thought I must have gotten hacked and changed the password, but now I suspect it

My guess is that they're trying to drum up business. I get the anniversary achievements for my accounts annually - and I have many accounts - but the two I had yesterday (Discussion Master and Dialogue Pro) were ones I hadn't seen before. Both were for this account which is the only one I still use. A friend had the same. Since I seldom comment here and never post I'm not sure what discussions I'm mastering.

Yes, I've gotten the anniversary achievements as well, but these were new including first post and making a comment. So we are still all in this together. And good to know you are still here, even though quiet.

I've never understood people who leave and don't look back. I can understand not posting but I don't understand why they wouldn't want to keep up with the posts of friends they'd interacted with for decades. I post on DW now and then but it's as dead as this site, at least for me. I'm not happy about that but it is what it is.

I agree, and do wonder about those who have disappeared. LJ is history and part of my early days online.
