This probably has no meaning to anyone reading my LJ, but I needed to use LJ to format it all the way I want to post it on Facebook.
I woke up on the first day of Existance of Main Street West, excited, because I knew something hilarious would happen on the parade route today, and I couldn't resist rushing to see it so that I may laugh, point, and document the errors of others - my favorite past-time.
Upon arrving across The Little Mississippi, and the threshold of Frontierland, there was no disapointment what-so-ever:
Here is the LACK of a parade rope up just 15 minutes prior to Parade step off. It's as if the Parade were planning on ending in Liberty Square.
I thought, perhaps, that they merely had just not gotten that far on the roll-out procedure, but then I took a gander down the rest of Frontierland....
Nope. No ropes up, and no effort to get ropes up, but don't worry, the children had hula-hoops. Hula-Hoops-A-Plenty.
You may be wondering "What type of costume does Main-Street West wear?" Well I couldn't tell ya, because evidently Consistancy, and matching is not a high priority:
Several options to choose from:
(1) Candy-Stripe Park Greeter Costume
(2) Classic Main Street Ops Costume
(3) WTF Vests.
With about 5 minutes before step-off I saw this hilarious and lovely sight:
JORDAN TO THE RESCUE!
Oh and also:
Frontierland Ops Manager Nichole teaching Main-Street WEST how to put tape down. You'd think they would have learned this BEFORE their first day. But Nichole says they didn't even call her until 10 minutes before step off to bring Jordan, ALL Fro-Town Coordinators available and herself out there to fix this mess.
Also, I ventured into Liberty Square for two reasons: One that Lib Bridge was my stomping gound for Day-PAC, and two I knew a few Skippers would enjoy hearing about the failures there.
Here is the clear path-way main street west achieved at the RiverBoat Landing Cross-Walk:
...interesting.
(Sorry if that isnt the official name of the cross-walk... I guessed)
Celebrate a dream come true parade was still good, Although I didn't get to enjoy it because I was ACCOSTED by A Main-Street West lady who said I couldn't stand on the river walk... A notion that is simply ridiculuous as park attendance was MAYBE 45K that day. Also apparently the thing to do on the parade route is ACCOST me like I don't know what I'm doing, Right Skipper Katie?
I Still miss Share a Dream Come True: SPRING 2006 PRIDE!
Also I want to take this Moment to say that the updated Celebrate a Dream Come True is MUCH better than Disney Dreams Come True.. I hated those Bikes.
