When I read that Natasha Richardson had died, my reaction was "Who?" I rarely go to the movies (these days) and never watch TV. I had to look her up on Wikipedia. After that, I still didn't know who she was, as I've never seen anything she was in ( Read more... )

Okay, I felt pretty much the same way about Richardson, never having heard of her until this whole thing started. It's the conclusion that's baffling me here. Why defriend cleolinda because you don't share a common background on celebrities? I don't have anything in common with the rest of my flist (none of them being engineers or skeptics) but I'm still friends with them. I'd understand it better if you'd said you didn't like the direction her writing is going or something.

...and I find her posts more annoying, these days. That said, I don't defriend mutual friends, since what's the point? You only piss people off. Cleo was never a mutual friend of mine.

Well that makes a lot more sense, then. I can totally empathize with defriending someone who's annoying you.

Some connection, no matter how tenuous, is sort of necessary. Other than just being a human, that is. Actually, I wonder about some of your friends...but never mind.

I like to think I am blessed with the ability to form connections even with widely disparate people.

I had no idea who she was, either. Actually, the way I heard about the whole thing was funny.

I called my mom. We were chatting. I mentioned the children and I are off to Garmisch this weekend for some skiing/snowboarding/much-needed-Mommy-Spa-Time and she said "OHMYGOD MAKE THEM WEAR HELMETS!"

Freak accident. Minor bump turned deadly. It happens. That's why you should always get head trauma checked. Eh.

How are ya?

Yeah, and apparently the statistics for deadly ski injuries are lower than lightning strikes. So it's best to hold a lightning rod while one is skiing.

Good lord, haven't heard from you in ages.

I am Ok! Working hard, dancing hard. Sheesh. Trying to work on International Standard dance style. At least it keeps me off the street and out of rumbles.

I'm single as usual. I have a theory that dance is the main culprit since I spend a large amount of time in close physical proximity with very attractive women without, as they say, effect. Heh.
