Cork city is actually quite an ugly place and I don't much like it. It has two postively filthy rivers running through it (even grosser than the Detroit River) that have discarded garbage and shopping carts in them. The city itself is run down in a lot of places and just not nice to look at. Our hostel room looks out over the most decrepit

Dog days of summer

If it is any consolation, we had the dog days of summer last week with temp and humidex in the mid to upper 40s and some brutal storms. I basically stayed indoors cuz I couldn't breath in the thick stew of smog, humidity and fumes. My asthma didn't like it at all, at all. Much better summer than last year but popsicles and ice cream are still daily necessities. Aunt P.

I got the post card you sent me yesterday. It was a great surprise when i got home froma terrible day at work = ) now i have two from Ireland. Can't wait to see you when you get back.
