In case you missed them, there were two updates over the holidays ...
Clementine 14 and
Peat 1. Those, and all previous updates can also be found in the archive!!
The brown generation has taken over, and Clementine's portraits are moved to the back Hall of Ancestors. I particularly like the silly one with Ben, who knew they were so limber at their age?!
The house underwent a little more than it's usual redecorating this time. A remodel was long overdue and the kitchen area was gutted out so the living room space could be expanded. This is the view to the right from the front door. The doorway straight ahead is Chestnut's room, and the doorway just to the left is the hallway leading to the back bedrooms and karaoke area.
Down that hallway and from the back playroom... the karaoke area was just slightly shifted 180 degrees, and instead of the little music room, we've built a nursery for Peat and Allison's babies. You'll get a better look later ^.^
This is the view to the left of the front door with Peat's heir portrait, some comfy seating, and the doorway to the new kitchen space!!
We knocked out one wall and expanded this space a bit, making room for a larger kitchen and eating area. It was much needed. Besides, I could then consolidate the
writing, reading, and art activities that used to be here into the larger living room. Hooray!
The view of the eating area. The rest of the house remained mostly the same, except for the expected redecorating and making room for the next generation, of course :)
And speaking of the next generation ... it's on it's way!
Peat is missing his brother's gardening knowledge as he tries to coax little seeds to grow. He's determined to at least grow something edible!
At least until he's distracted by butterflies.
Or maybe it was just me being distracted??? *loves on Peat*
Peat and Allison continue being lovey. Including standing in the kitchen in underwears.
Pregnancy is hard on Allison.
Allison: Bwaahhh.... what was I doing?
Mac&Cheese: ZZzzzzzzzzz
Take two!!
Allison: Excuse me?
Bag of mini muffins: Yes?
Allison: FEEEEEED MEEEEEE!
Bag of mini muffins: *wafts yummy smells toward Allison* Eat mEEeee!!!
Bag of mini muffins: ... I guess not?
Just then I notice this colorfully clad lady depositing a golden lamp in my front yard. At long last, the Yarns have a genie lamp all their own!! And just in time too, as Allison's needs plummet further into the red than I'm comfortable with.
Back inside Peat and Chestnut gleefully discuss their vacations.
And then block Allison's access to the fridge. MMmmm, lovely.
Chestnut!! Your food is burning in the oven!!! Step away from the fridge!!
O! And this picture signifies the moment when Clementine *finally* found her very own treasure chest. XD Another vacation memory down!
Allison's finally rested and eaten enough to try to do something about that desperate lack of fun. Singing karakoe is the perfect solution as far as she's concerned.
Allison: *singing* OOOOOooooh, that pirate treasure!
Allison: *singing* Doncha just wanna find that sparkly pirate treasure!!!!
Allison: *still singing* ... for meeeeeeee!!
Following the rollicking treasure song, Allison serves up a dinner of Jello.
Allison: *glares* He's going to eat all MY jello!!!
Ben: What?
Allison: Sooooo, I heard this legend about an ancient golden lamp that has magical powers. You ever hear that story?
Ben: Hear that story?! Dear girl, I've lived that story!
Allison: You're not that old, silly!! It's an *ancient* story, not a story from when you were a kid! A mystical purple creature called a *~GENIE~* is banished from his lands and locked into a dusty old lamp. Then that lamp is sold at a market, just like our little store downtown, how cool is that?!
Ben: That's not the way the story goes, it goes like this ... Once upon a time
Allison: HALP!
Allison: OOOooooooh!
Ben: ....a young village boy found a strange lamp in his fa.... *leaps out of chair*
Ben: OH GOODNESS GRACIOUS!!
Allison: *braces self for more contractions*
Allison: *wimper*
And it's a girl!!! Welcome,
Enchanted Yarn. (Yes, there really was a green yarn called that! But it's not on the website anymore, so you'll just have to take my word for it ^.^) nvm! I found it!
Her mother's black hair and her father's blue eyes, and a skintone somewhere between the two :)
Now let's take a look at the nursery, shall we?
Complete with a lovely HUGE painting of an enchanted forest, a special present from Clementine to her grandbabies.
It's a lovely little room, in my opinion (but I'm biased, of course).
Peat loves taking care of his little princess. He's always got time for cuddles, and there's always someone waiting for a turn to cuddle her when he's done!
Clementine does her share of cuddling and caring for little baby Enchanted.
And then, having welcomed their first grandbaby into the world, Clementine and Ben take a much deserved little vacation.
Back at home, Allison gets a hair cut.
And the Garden Club briefly considers them for membership, until some unknown "emergency on the lot" makes them all leave without so much as a compliment!
No matter, their are little baby bellies to kiss and little baby noses to tickle!!
Awwwww.
Chesnut asks for a blind date, and the matchmaker sent him this girl. They sang karaoke (not much of a surprise, I guess).
Though they don't seem too certain about it.
Peat and Allison thoroughly enjoy their little girl.
Allison: Peekabooo!!
Enchanted: *flaps arms excitedly*
And Allison serves up another meal, but it's not jello this time!!!
Allison: Hmmm, a plate for Peat, and one for Mom and Dad, and one for Chestnut!
Apparently she wasnt' hungry, but everyone else enjoyed the meal!!
Clementine's finished another novel, this one called Bugs and Birds. She wrote it specially for her inquisitive and silly boys. Peat sat outside in the light spring ran and read it cover to cover, he loved it that much. (I hope Clementine had them print it on waterproof pages!!)
Another round of karaoke.
Aww, Ben's whispering sweet wise words to his little grandbaby :)
The LotP continues to hang around, and Chestnut continues to love hanging out with animals. Hmmmmm.
Allison: Good morning, my sweet Peat!
Peat: Good morning, my rhyming rose!
Both: *giggle*
Both: *smoooooch*
Allison: What would you think if I told you we were expecting another baby?
Peat: We need more toys?
Allison: ... Then I think we better get more toys!
!!
Allison: Loook! I caught a fish! I win!
lol. That never gets old.
Peat had less win, surprisingly enough.
Peat: *scowls* A BOOT?! BLech!! I don't want to eat a boot!
Allison: HUZZAH!
*flop*
Meanwhile, Ben fishes alongside them, quietly catching big things like catfish and trout!! All the more to stock their fridge with!
Oh, and in case there was any doubt in your minds. Yes, they will need to buy more toys.
Next time with the Yarns: An update from Russet!
.
Confused?
