Triac was not there, at least from what I saw. There were a couple of other 'electric car' makers there. One that I had not seen before was Coda, based in Santa Monica. Coda CLAIMS to have a 80 to 120 mile range, and they sell for about $37 K, before rebates. I think that Tesla comes close, also, but they are more expensive.
If you are really worried about range, you can get a hybrid, or a 'plug-in hybrid'. Toyota was showing a 'plug-in' version of the Prius hybrid. You plug it in at night, charge the battery, and then it is tuned to use the battery more than the gas (compared to a normal hybrid) in normal use. But you can still use the gas when you need to go on a long trip.
Also, a additional entry, the Nissan Leaf. All Electric, and it might have a 100 mile range (depending on who measures, it varies from 70 to over 100), AND it only costs about $32K, with a typical $7K tax rebate.
