your html is broken. bad link...

those too lazy to make with the cut and paste, make with the clicky clicky here

I wont be around to watch it, but yes, the bretheren are a scary mob. DOnt trust anyone that refuses to vote, yet meddles in politics.

Thanks, fixed the HTML.

They worry me because,,, I dont know why they worry me.

Some of the things I've heard about them (Eg not allowing girls to finnish school). And the fact that these things grow. That there are people out there who will join up, saying "yeah, these guys have the right plan".

Makes my head hurt.
Makes me uneasy..

Is it were seeing more of these type of groups around the world? Or are we just looking harder for things out of the main stream norm?

Here is some more info on them. Scary bunch, but no more than any of the other overly religious mob. Religion breeds zeal, zeal based on religion can be scary.

Due to their nature, i dont see too many people joining them specifically, but they do seem to be able to exert more power than any wackjob religious mob should be able to.

Then again hillsong seem to be able to wield far more political influence.

I really wish there was true seperation between religion and government, but i guess it isnt to be so.

There has never been separation between religion and government; it just faded a little in the middle there.
If I was cynical I'd say we were at the start of a new dark ages and badly in need of the next renaissance.

Saw this tonight by chance.

As far as religious wackjobs go, there have been worse. Far worse. These guys don't really seem to be much more than some bastard child of Scientologists and the Amish. They ruin families and feed off the gullible (As well as trying to encroach their support from outside, which is barmy for a cult that seems to focus so heavily on internalisation), but their malicious attitudes seem to only be self destructive/self serving, which doesn't affect anyone that hasn't been directly involved in their tight circles. Their efforts to reach out in politics are thinly masked at best, and they don't appear to pose any real threat in that regard.

Fred Phelps, now there's a god-driven wackjob that can strike fear into the common man. He's the kind of person who reigns in hell and then brings it to your door. It takes a really special kind of evil to picket a fucking funeral.

What a pack of hypocrites. If it's consolation, I've got a photo of a Mennonite lady and her kids getting out of an SUV....
