Over the past week...

I finished Character & Viewpoint by Orson Scott Card. Near the end he gives an example of the "in his mind-in her mind" thing, an example that actually works and did not disorient me. I have a theory as to why it worked.

I also read The Minister's Daughter by Julie Hearn.

Yeah, except that when I posted this, I was on the first day of a nasty cold. And so, my pace sank uncontrollably. I slept for hours, and I could hardly concentrate on anything. I'm still not completely over it. Really not fun.

Have you read Ender's Game before? It's one of my favorites, and a series that I have re-read a number of times. If you haven't already read it, you'll find that books 2-4 of the series, although also good, are very different in style and tone than Ender's Game. The subsequent sequels, Ender's Shadow, Shadow of the Hegemon, and Shadow Puppets, return to the same style and flavor of the original book.

I had not read Ender's Game before I posted this. I'd like to read the rest of the series. It's on my list. I wrote a brief review of Ender's Game. And I also mentioned it in another blog post, "Ender vs. Anakin".
