I love Alabama. And I can admit it. Most people hate it, but it's my favorite place. Note: I did not say population of people. One of my favorite things about it is that it just bleeds history. Knowing I've felt the water running over the Civil Rights Memorial, stood on the steps of the church where Martin Luther King Jr. preached, driving down the road named after one woman who helped things change all because of where she sat on a bus, it gets to you. You're also surrounded by people who have signed a contract that they will lose their life for you and your freedom, if need be, who really ask nothing in return except to come back home and have a good time...make that a lot of good times. I love the landscaping, it is seriously beautiful. And there's much more of a community feeling than anywhere else I've ever lived. And most of the things to do are FREE, FREE, FREE! It's a special place because of all the feelings I've felt there. I felt really free. And a lot of things I'd never thought would happen, did. Not that they were all good, or things I want to tell my children about. But I was more of the person I wanted to be there than anywhere else. So it's special to me.
