★ The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo (2009) ★★★★☆ So with Fincher's version making the buzz lately, I wanted to see what it was about. Well, don't know about Fincher's yet, but this first version is already more than good, I really liked it. The plot is great, so are the characters, locations, and the general atmosphere. Will probably watch the 2011 to see how it compares.

★ The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest ★★★★☆ this trilogy is brilliant, I'm so glad I watched it. Fincher's version will probably be fantastic, it being Fincher and all, but this first version is simply amazing. Definitely worth checking out if you haven't yet! :D

★ Crazy, Stupid, Love ★★★☆☆ ♥♥ Kevin Bacon is in this movie. I did not know that Kevin Bacon was in this movie. Why is Kevin Bacon in this movie? (it's written on the poster, yes, I just saw that, leave me alone.)
☄ X-Men: First Class ★★★★☆ ♥ brother hadn't watched it yet, okay. (I have the weirdest emotional attachment to this movie. I mean, I've watched it so many times, and it was always fun because everything was fun then, so, yeah.)
★ Drive ♠♠♠♠♠ this symbol here will be the equivalent of last year's cheesecake. Because I'm not smart/sophisticated/artsy enough to give Drive stars, but I can damn well give it a hundred fucking cheesecakes. This movie is weird. It's interesting, no doubt about that, but in such a non conventional way that you cannot judge it the way you would a regular movie. Did I like it? I have honestly no idea. Did I not like it? No, I did not not like it. Cheesecake it is. Or, well, black spade.
☄ Avatar ★★★★☆ I just noticed, but whenever there's a Marine in a movie and they want him to appear even more threatening/badass than a regular military guy, they say he is/used to be a Recon Marine. Ladies and gents, further evidence that Brad Colbert owns the fucking world.
★ A Dangerous Method ♠ ★★☆☆☆ It's like something is missing but you don't know what it is and the movie ends and you're left wondering. It's not a bad movie at all, I just think I'll forget it rather quickly.
★ The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo 2011 ★★★★☆ Great movie, but I'd say I like the Swedish version better. This one does feature Mikael and Lisbeth together more and is a lot more obvious about this weird sort of messed up kind of romantic relationship, which makes me a little happy because who doesn't ship Mikael and Lisbeth. But yep, very good, but the Swedish version is even better imho. Correction after reading the book: this one does stick to it more than the Swedish version, so there's that. So, equally awesome?

★ Anonymous ★★★☆☆ while it is clear that any concept of historical accuracy is clearly lacking, I found Anonymous to be a very good movie and truly enjoyed it! The actors are all amazing, the movie has gorgeous cinematography, and the score is also beautiful. The character of Edward (among others) is also one you quickly support and get attached to. So, yes, if you know your history, you will cringe, but once you're past that, it's great!
★ Lost in Austen ★★☆☆☆ ♥ the idea behind this is fantastic, because who wouldn't want to be a character from their favourite novel or movie? but then, nothing happens like it should and nobody ends up with whom they should and it's a huge mess and THIS WAS NEVER SUPPOSED TO HAPPEN, NO, and I mostly spent my time protesting vehemently against everything.

☄ X-Men: First Class ★★★★☆ ♥ brother hadn't watched it yet, okay. (I have the weirdest emotional attachment to this movie. I mean, I've watched it so many times, and it was always fun because everything was fun then, so, yeah.)
★ Drive ♠♠♠♠♠ this symbol here will be the equivalent of last year's cheesecake. Because I'm not smart/sophisticated/artsy enough to give Drive stars, but I can damn well give it a hundred fucking cheesecakes. This movie is weird. It's interesting, no doubt about that, but in such a non conventional way that you cannot judge it the way you would a regular movie. Did I like it? I have honestly no idea. Did I not like it? No, I did not not like it. Cheesecake it is. Or, well, black spade.
☄ Avatar ★★★★☆ I just noticed, but whenever there's a Marine in a movie and they want him to appear even more threatening/badass than a regular military guy, they say he is/used to be a Recon Marine. Ladies and gents, further evidence that Brad Colbert owns the fucking world.
★ A Dangerous Method ♠ ★★☆☆☆ It's like something is missing but you don't know what it is and the movie ends and you're left wondering. It's not a bad movie at all, I just think I'll forget it rather quickly.
★ The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo 2011 ★★★★☆ Great movie, but I'd say I like the Swedish version better. This one does feature Mikael and Lisbeth together more and is a lot more obvious about this weird sort of messed up kind of romantic relationship, which makes me a little happy because who doesn't ship Mikael and Lisbeth. But yep, very good, but the Swedish version is even better imho. Correction after reading the book: this one does stick to it more than the Swedish version, so there's that. So, equally awesome?

★ Anonymous ★★★☆☆ while it is clear that any concept of historical accuracy is clearly lacking, I found Anonymous to be a very good movie and truly enjoyed it! The actors are all amazing, the movie has gorgeous cinematography, and the score is also beautiful. The character of Edward (among others) is also one you quickly support and get attached to. So, yes, if you know your history, you will cringe, but once you're past that, it's great!
