TL;DR VERSION OF RYAN'S POWERS
I probably forgot something, ask about it if it's not here. Ask about it if it's confusing. Ask about it if you want your character to be hit in the head with objects. Ask about it if you want Ryan to accidentally steal food from your characters. Ask about it if you think it'd be hilarious to see your character sing. Basically, ask away!
Making Music
- In a sense, it kind of works like the Pied Pier except Ryan can't make anyone do anything they don't want to do somewhere deep down.
- If someone affected really wanted to stop, all they'd have to do is block Ryan out and force themselves to stop.
- Distance (willpower too) directly affects the intensity of whatever underlying suggestion Ryan is making.
- Generally, Ryan sort of just makes people want to sing but he can suggest a specific song/genre with a little additional effort. It's basically just a shift from "Join me" to "Join me in this song."
- He can also focus his suggestion to a specific group of people / person, which increases the intensity.
- Obviously, if a character can't hear Ryan then there's absolutely no effect. At all.
- Dancing is primarily optional - if the character associates singing with dancing, there's dancing. If they are generally inclined to dance anyway, then they'll dance.
- If it helps any, think of the different suggestions Ryan can make as the difference between Greased Lightning, Summer Nights and You Are the One I Want.
Making things
- Must start with an S.
- To create anything, there must be at least 2 lines of song.
- There's a four hour time limit on objects, they disappear after the time is up.
- The larger an object is, the harder it is for Ryan to create it.
- As long as it's small objects, Ryan can summon a nearly infinite amount. He can only summon a few large object though. So. As many salmon as he wants, but only one skyscraper.
- Cannot be in conflict with his other power - so he has to chose between summoning and forcing people to sing. In reality though, Ryan has to chose to make people sing. The summoning crap just happens.
Food Corollary
- Ryan can't actually create food, because that would require like. IDK, cooking. What happens is it gets transported from somewhere else.
- Food name doesn't necessarily have to start with an S. The base food must start with an S though. Example: chocolate shake.
- If the food does start with an S though, normal rules apply. Example: squash muffins.
- Generally, will only transport a single serving of whatever.
Large Object Corollary
- If an object wouldn't fit in an apartment, it gets downsized to fit, though not necessarily through the door. Example: A skyscraper would be perfectly proportioned, but only ten feet tall / however tall the apartment is.
- Can be bypassed if any word meaning large is placed somewhere before the actual item. Even if Ryan is inside. This takes a larger toll on Ryan's health and will likely cause him to pass out.
Nonphysical/Names Object Corollary
- If something starts with an S and isn't a physical item (ex. smiles) then it will be created as whatever physical object Ryan associates most with that word (ex. wax lips).
- Names will get Ryan whatever is most frequently associated with that person - though not necessarily in terms of his own experience.
Weather Conditions Corollary
- When creating weather conditions, the effect is constrained to a bubble extending five feet around Ryan. It does affect Ryan. So, if he summons snow, he'll be just as cold as his opponent if he's not wearing a jacket. The bubble also moves with him.
- Weather serves no lasting effect after the four hours are up.
Adjectives/Verbs Corollary
- Once trained, Ryan will be able to stick adjectives in front of objects to create them. Example: silver bells.
- When using verbs, Ryan will apply the verb to the subject of the sentence. Example: Ryan sings There's a fantastic breeze, I feel like I could soar! and he'll soar. If he sings There's a million little salmon, all swimming in the water, swimming salmon will appear.
- These takes a significantly greater toll on Ryan's health than a regular object starting with S. It's also not actually something he knows how to control.
"Protected" Threads
- While not inclined to do so usually, Ryan can protect anything on a comm he wants to protect by asking the music for security. It works very much the same as warding, only it degenerates.
- This is completely unhackable for a period of one week and then degenerates rapidly over three days to regular private hackability.
- Should a character try to hack it, they'll be met with static.
