OK. If you believe what you wrote above, I want you to apply it this semester. If you do, there will be no stopping you. Pair facts and decent reporting with your great flair and you will produce stellar stories. Your writing has always, in my opinion and experience, been interesting and enjoyable to read. It's just lacked facts, figures and, often, relevance. Do what you say above and then, you'll have something.
Writing feature or magazine stories can be fun. But, as you say, the most compelling city council stories are those that bring in people and explore how actions of others affect them.
Glad you are in this class and I am looking forward to working with you. Alyssa

Your post was very much unlike you, Rudi. Were you just tired, or are we in for a change of pace from the usual, honestly sarcastic point of view you excel at putting things in? We sort of need that, even though there are plenty of creative minds in the class. Your take on things is flowingly upward, trendy and lovable, and I would greatly enjoy seeing this in your blog.

That aside, you're right. People are the best thing in news since Franklin picked up a pen. And Ohio is one place that is full of a bunch of different kinds of people. We should have loads of fun on the road trip.

Good to see you again.

John C.
