I find it really disturbing that 21.3 percent of people in Fayette county never graduate high school or get the G.E.D equivalent, its kind of scary that this is happening in America and that people should be more aware of that it is just not happening in third world countries.

This is one of the best stories I read out of this project. Good job. You put your stats and numbers to better use than most.

To Ashley C.: 21.3 percent is actually probably average for rural counties. Both of my counties had numbers like that too. You should check out Youngstown's drop-out rate, which is about 50 percent.

Street fair was a good way to find people to talk with about your county. I like the quotes from Kendra especially, I think she makes good quotes.

Hi Rudi,

Nice article. The only suggestions I have is to be careful not to skip words (par. 1 - its 20 electoral votes are nothing to sneeze a). I know it's easy to do. Thank God for the editors and proof readers at the Jambar. I wish they could review all of my blog writings before I publish them.

Cheers,

Darlene
