Ann Coulter

Im all for political incorrectness.
I find shock value commentary to be HILARIOUS.

But today, listening to that woman speak, i was ashamed to be a part of the same species.
When it was over, i was at a loss for words- and i never shut up.
I was so angry i thought i was going to cry.

It was a shameful display all around.
*sigh*

yeah, she spoke here last week.

i know it sounds harsh, but if anyone in the world deserved to get raped...
if you'd heard the shit she said, you'd agree.

Um.

No one deserves to get raped.

Period.

sorry, i've been learning too much latin and it's altering my translations of english. i meant a contrary to fact subjunctive meaning... i agree, no one deserves that, but if "god" decreed that one must, i'd vote for her.

It really upsets me that Loyola spent thousands of dollars that could have most definitely been spent elsewhere (like their budding MCSR group) to promote hatred and ignorance. The last thing that female students need to hear is that abortion is wrong, sex is evil, and if you got raped you were "asking for it"...especially since college campuses have the highest amount of sexual assault than any other location, and about 44% of (reported) rape victims are under age 18, and 80% are under age 30, and only 5% of women who are raped on a college campus report it. Loyola could have spent that money making its campus more safe for women instead of attacking them.

That Loyola spent thousands of dollars to pay her to come bothers me.
That those thousands total to the tune of twenty-four infuriates.

A couple points of interest that might bother you as well...
1) When asked how she can marginalize women when she herself IS a woman, her response was "I don't. Next question."
2) That Coulter made an appeal to the "real men", the "heterosexual men" in the audience to remove the female hecklers in the balcony- or as she put it, "take them out". Even sadder, several men in the audience obeyed this command like loyal little henchmen.
3) Judging from the responses to certain parts of her "speech", the majority of the audience supported and agreed with the arguments Coulter was making.

Isn't that pretty close to one year of tuition at Loyola? The more I hear about this, the more it continues to boggle my mind. You mean they couldn't find some hard working kid with a struggling family and give them a little help? Excuse me, but...what the fuck?
