So remember that hair community I've blathered on about for a while? Where we could organize hair by creators and textures (and possibly gender) so we don't get 20 recolors of the newest Peggy mesh? :D I think it'd be cool to open it up now, especially since I want to do that new Rose mesh and I've no desire to do 42 recolors and someone beats me

This sounds like such a fantastic idea!

Personally, I think having both stickied posts for creators and tags would be the most helpful: the tags would be good for people searching for 'specific' hairs while the stickies would be helpful if you're just wondering if anyone has done this-and-that mesh under a certain creator.

I think organizing by creator, gender, style (like Maxis-Match, Nouk'd, etc) and poster would be nice.

And if you need any mods, I'd be glad to volunteer :B

And I see your point. :) Do you think we'd need the stickies to be organized by number (like Peggy 0091) and then just tags for those looking for a Peggy hair in general?

Oh, I think that would be better! Maybe the main stickied title would be "rosesims" (or other creator) and, then subcategories could be listed as "pay" or "free", then the number of the hair?

And I suppose the tags could simply be the creators, gender, and style (pooklet'd, or maxis match) of hair.

What a wonderful idea! I can definitely see the need for such a set of lists. I myself have had frustrations with multiple recolors. The day after Pooklet released her new actions, I had completed and uploaded the new Coolsims hair with all the colors and then a few days later I saw atleast 2 seperate uploads of exactly the same thing. I know I'm not a very well known creator, but it is still aggrivating to have that work go to waste.

At any rate, enough of my pity party, I'd like to stick my neck out and offer myself for a moderater on the DW side of things. I'm online pretty much all day, every day, have a decent handle on the site's workings (as well as a fair knowledge of HTML) and am obsessive about organisation and updating. If you don't already have people lined up, give me a hoy and I'll hit you back asap. ^^

And I know how you feel! The same thing happened to me with a Peggy hair, except someone released their upload a day before mine. It's really aggravating!

Well let me know if I'm needed. FYI (I forgot to add >_>) I'm also a fair hand at graphics if you're ever in short supply of artistic ability.

That sucks! This idea is looking better and better each time it crosses my mind! Just the thought of having a nice list of CC hair from all around to help those who only look on select sites before doing their own recolor and then undermining some else's hard work.
