Don't think I haven't noticed you all. Filling my flist with your final year travails. TBH, I find it all very instructive. My final year effort was rushed, panicked and full of leaps. As is most of my life. Calm on the outside, manic on the inside. Anyone who think my life is planned and measured clearly knows me not ( Read more... )

Life after graduation? What's that? :p

I agree that a career is not for everyone. I don't know yet what I want out of life, but it certainly isn't that.

Yeah, that's kinda the point I intended to make. But ended up talking about myself, as usual!

well career is pretty much out the window for me in edinburgh as the royal museum is closing for 5 years so my stalking of curators there has been pretty much pointless. I'm taking a year off career planning after i graduate. Just hopefully i won't be working for shittish gas for much longer

It is scary when things I say are quoted. No one should ever listen to me! I have hurricane eyes.

Hear hear Aythan. I have grand plans afoot in that arena. I'm seriously looking at becoming my own boss within the next 6 months/year setting up an agency, even to the point of getting a business partner and being in the process of setting up a limited company. It rankles that my job currently charges about £22,000 for a technical document which takes me about 8 hours to create and the consultancy afterwards, and I get paid about £80-100 to write it and provide said consultancy. Why on earth should I be busting my balls to buy the CEO another £5 million castle?!

I know fine well you've got the knowledge and gumption to get your own practice and work for yourself, and being in charge of your own destiny as opposed to relying on your bosses whims just seems sensible. So bravo to you.

I also haven't seen you for what seems like an age! When shall we three meet again?
