i only have to endure work for a few more days, then come sunday, i'm off stalking human prey! that's right, the summer BIG GAME at Adventure Games is upon us! 300+ people, free soda, and lots of paintballs wizzing by ur head...i can't wait! i need to shoot something...
thought of the moment:
We fight not for the country, nor the flag, nor the politics...when the bullets whiz by your head, all of that shit goes out the window. We fight for the man beside us, and he for us. Each man may join for a different reason, but they all fight for one. Once the shit hits the fan, you won't care whether that man next to you is a republican or a democrat, whether he's straight or he's gay, whether he's black or he's white...all that matters is that he is there beside you and he won't let you down, because you're lives are in each other's hands. What if the rest of the world thought like this? What if everyone else had the type of bond that soldiers share with their comrades? But they can't, becuase that bond is forged in pain and tempered under fire. It is a bond that can never be broken, not even by death.
another thought:
Why will I join the military? I was called a militant commie the other day, and all I did was smile, because I knew that was what I was willing to die for. Think about this: Everbody knows how their country should be run, the right way. Me? I understand how this country works. It works because everyone has a different view on the same subject. Our country thrives due to change, and if everyone thought alike, there would be no change. Whether people listen to or are tolerant to each other's views are minor details, the fact remains that everyone has the chance to voice their opinion. That's what it boils down to. Monarchies and dictatorships are stagnant, stagnant because everybody follows the thoughts of one absolute leader. Where does the change come from? The power is with the people, the masses, the mobs. So whether or not someone agrees with my viewpoint is whimsical, because by the very fact that they think for themselves and come to a decision on their own terms proves that this is the best way to go. Becuase I understand this, it matters not what I think. I am willing to die to protect this freedom of thought and expression, because without it, we would all be the same as everyone else, and where would we be then? So think of me as you will, but while you spend all your time trying to prove to people that you know, take a moment every now and then to try and understand...
Chew on that for a while
