I kind of feel like he did sell out, but I am not the Bob fan like you are so I really can't make that claim. Although, having the song be given away with a Victoria Secret purchase and I think only available that way, is kind of cheesy.

"Lovesick" was first released on the 1997 Time Out of Mind album, which is still available for purchase. If he sold out, it was when he allowed the Bank of Montreal to use "The Times They Are A-Changin" in 1996. Fan or not, you can make whatever claim you want. I would be among the first to rip an artist for selling out; in this case, I believe there is something far more artistic about the endeavor than merely upping Victoria's Secret sales, although the commercial has certainly done just that.
