Why Do I Insist?

I have a vague idea of why I felt compelled to find and download the video showing the beheading of an American citizen, posted earlier today on an Al Quada linked website. Maybe it was because I wasn't supposed to see it. Maybe it was because other people (journalists) got to see it when a few screen shots preceding the video were supposed to be

I wanted to see it, too. I don't know why, but I found myself searching around online last night, too, even though I couldn't stand to watch the video my coworkers passed around of a cat getting it's head cut off (that they swore was computer generated, but I disagree). Still, I want to see it, but it's just so horrible. That poor family.

I wanted to see it as well, but have not and will not give into the temptation. I simply cannot handle that. It has been hard enough for me to watch the news about any of the war or afterwar in Iraq so I don't. Still, I don't think watching those clips on the news really made me think about the real situation. I don't think the true horror set in until I read luloubelle's journal entry and now yours
