Expensive Air

I put an offer on a house, an offer that was accepted and is probably ratified by now. Basically, I'm out $5000 if I back out now--unless I can't get Direct TV's required degree angle to the Southern sky (for the NFL ticket), which will render the contract null and void. Yes, that is grounds for voiding the contract. Amazing huh ( Read more... )

it's all good. and yes, i will miss you too, but i hear you get up to nova every so often. i'll have a spare bedroom. A SPARE BEDROOM. Technically TWO spare bedrooms!! the invitation is always open, cuz.

the current owner is an elementary school teacher, and not to dis elementary school teachers, but imagine how the inside of an elmentary school teacher's house might look. i have a lot of work to do--painting and jenifying. your sense of color and style is superb, so maybe you'll come up and do some consulting.

Well once you dig through the piles of green, large-ruled paper, giant pencils, bulletin board borders, stencils, and the leftover apple t-shirts and wooden alphabet necklaces, maybe I can help you out, LOL. Get back to me when you crawl out from under the cut-out heart shelving and english rose-patterned chintz--is that enough generalizations for you? He he. I have no idea what I am talking about.

I could trade you design consultation for GRE prepping! Ha HAH!

the finality of it. I put it off as long as possible. I am a free spirit and owning a house can be a little suffocating at times, but I adore having it.

Once you decorate and put up a few photos and slap the paint on you will feel a little better about it.

YOur home ends up becoming your refuge at the end of the day! HOWEVER, you will still feel listliss and get that twitch, so plan your time off from work well!!

thank you yellawhim July 13 2004, 19:41:01 UTC
for those kind and encouraging words.

the beauty of all of this is that i've achieved somewhat of a zen peace in life, which makes me much more comfortable with the here and now. there will always be something somewhere that i am missing, so i need to make the most of the here and now that i am NOT missing.

and make that place my refuge. you said it so well. at the end of the day, it's a little haven carved out for me. i have ALWAYS wanted to paint an interior any way i like, and now i don't have to ask a soul for permission, swear i'll paint over it, and stick to neutrals. i'm going to jenify the place.

as for that time off, one of the most appealing things about teaching is that when the summer weeks arrive, i CAN--with proper planning--take off. i could spend EVERY SINGLE JULY in a tent on the side of Mount Ranier if i like.

i will be good to myself, and THANKS for taking the time to write.
