Back to reality...

So this past week was my spring break of my freshman year and it was packed with good times.

Friday was lonely because I was on campus by myself. I went to the mall for a bit then came back to watch comedy central. Campus security came banging on all the doors around 10:30 and it was then that I realized I wasn't suppose to be on campus. Apparently my paper work didn't go through or something. So I turned off my lights and went to bed pretending I wasn't here. Saturday morning I woke up early went to the grocery store then to Dunkin Donoughts and met my dad at Mr. Tires at 7:30 so that my car could be serviced before we left for the road trip. I went to work from 8-4 then went back to Dad's to get ready for the military ball. Of course I looked gorgeous in my plain brown dress and gold accecories. a) It was disgusting because now I look old enough that people thought I was actually my Dad's date...EWWW! This one guy asked my dad where he found me. I wanted to scream, "HE MADE ME! I AM HIS SPERM!" But that might be inappropriate. Anyway it was many hours of drunked old men hitting on me. b) My Dad is an ass. He told me, "Why don't you just become a horse back riding instructor. Obviously science isn't for you and what else are you going to do?" Thanks for the encouragment Dad. After the ball I got back to school with Sarah and packed up my stuff for the IHSA show the next morning. We left for Williamsburg at 5 am and I slept the entire way. The show was fine and I was really excited to ride. I was going to be the first one to ride my horse so I went and saw him in the stall. He seemed very nice. HA. They brought him out to the arena and it took three people from keeping him to run over the crowd. Needless to say my hack class where I galloped around and the horse kept bucking was not a winning run. They did let me re-ride which was going great until this girl crashed into me and my next horse flipped out and galloped down the long side as well. Rather dissapointing time for my first, and last IHSA show, of the year.

Our team got back to school around 10 and Sarah and I packed the trusty Passport up for our roadtrip!! We met everyone at Justin's and slept for a few hours before getting up to leave at 4am. Justin started the drive while Julio, Manny and I slept on the back seat and Sarah stayed awake in the passenger seat. Near VA we switched and I got to drive the whole rest of the 10 hours down to Florida!! We did make a stop in Savannah, Georgia for Julio and had lunch at a cute little cafe. Once we got back onto 95 the traffic was horrible. But instead of it being because of an accident as was previously said on a sign it was because some guy had parked his car on the side of the road and was butt naked running away from the cops. By the time we got up to the scene of the "crime" they had him behind his truck and only I saw him from my seat. We finally got to Fl later that night and went to the store after putting all our stuff in the house. This house was amazing! Huge! We all had our own rooms and full baths. There was a screened in porch that overlooked their yard that ended at a lake. There was a game room with a pool table, darts, nitendo and computer. The boys really like the nice soccer field within walking distance and there was also a pool. We crashed Monday night and woke up Tuesday to some rainy, cold weather. We didn't let it stop us though and we went to the pool for a bit. Later we came back for lunch and played pool and darts until the sun came out at which point we layed out on the grass right next to the lake until the sun set behind the house. We all showered and ate dinner and left for a club called The Globe. We got there around 11 and there was no one there. So we went to Taco Bell and got food and then drove back over. There were a few more people so we figured we would just go in because it was free admission and see what the club was like. There were like 5 people dancing and another 10 at the bar...not to great. We danced for a bit and then left. Sarah and Justin fell asleep in the back of the car and so Manny, Jill and I tried to find the beach. We apparently missed the exit to the beach and ended up making a huge circle which brought us back to the club we were just at. So we gave up and went home. Wed. we woke up and it was sooo sunny! So Manny and I, like little kids, come rushing down the stairs and demand that we go to the beach. Now it was really sunny...but it was also really windy. We just pretended that it felt good though and jumped in the water and sun-tanned. Funny thing is only Julio and I got burned and mine was just a little on the back of my legs and hers was really bad all over her back side. After relaxing on the beach and playing soccer for 4 hours we finally went back to the house. Everyone fell asleep and we finally woke up we made spaghetti and got ready for the next club. Oh and Manny and I played Nitendo until we left for the club which was so much fun. So we went to this club called Rain that Justin's cousin said we had to be there by 11 to get in because it got so packed. We got there at 11:30 all worried that we wouldn't be able to get in and of course, our luck, there were only a few people there. We stuck around until more people showed up and danced until 1:30. Thursday was another rainy day so we hung out in the house and then went to go see V for Vendetta which was a really good movie that all should see. After that we went to Taco Bell again and then hung out at the house for the night. Manny, Julio and I watched Ice Age till I fell asleep and so Manny carried me to our bed. :D

Friday of course ended up being the best day there but we packed up the car and drove to NC. On the way we stopped for dinner in SC at Maurice's BBQ which ended up being one of the best parts of the trip. I don't even think I could explain this place....There was a HUGE light up, flashing sign with a dancing pig on top and an arrow pointing to the resturant. It looked like it was a normal tiny resturant with a random ass drive through attatched to it. We walked in and were instantly surronded by confedarate flags. The family in front of us was in the most hickish clothes and were missing teeth. The people behind the counter were so weird they looked like they were out of a movie. There was a "gift shop" which consisted of two tables next to each other covered with books about why the south is best, why General Lee is the best, White Vs. Black, ect. There was even a confederate horn that played confederate songs and on the box it said, "Impress your friends and your enemies!" Obviously we were a bit out of place. 4 clearly Northern kids and the "mexican". Our booth had theater seats which were amazing. The walls were covered in the weirdest southern things. With our fries we got hush puppies and we were all worried we would be lynched at one point or another.

NC was fabulous. Saw Kate, Jon, Sam, Caleb and Mom. While we were there we got a call from my uncle that my cousin Kevin, who lives in Mexico and works in Alaska got kicked in the face by a horse and was in the hospital on an ventilator. That was all the information they could get because everyone in Mexico spoke only spanish. Luckily for us I am now dating a guy who is fluent in Spanish. So we called Mexico quite a lot this weekend. Kevin's face was destroyed and had to be reconstructed, his brain was swollen and he lost his left eye. Crazy.

We left NC Saturday morning and drove back to MD. They wouldn't let me do anymore driving which made me really sad. Late Saturday night we got back to my house, went to the store for pizza and drinks picked up my dogs and then crashed. We had a fabulous mini party where we played a drinking game to Life and then watched Chicago until everyone fell asleep. Sunday morning Sarah and Justin left early and Manny, Julio and I finally got up and went to lunch at Tonino's. I then rushed back to school to get dressed and then went to the NCEL banquet. My girls are sooo great! And they all got dressed up which was kind of funny to see. Anyway next year is going to be amazing and Michelle wants me to start sitting in on lessons so that I can end up teaching. Yay!!

Then I got back from the banquet around 10 and had to write a 6 page research paper on Rosa Parks and then do Spanish homework the rest of the day yesterday. Today I will be doing a Biology Lab write-up all day. Welcome back to school....

Anyway I will not have many pictures for a while because my camera died right at the beginning of the trip. But once Jill and Sarah give me theirs I will be able to share!
