This day is an excercise in futility.

Unfortunately.

Yourself, Shizune?

My sympathies.

Yes, but... not as bad as most of us are... I didn't take missions with Tsunade-sama, and that was a good chunk of my life...

I'm grateful that patients I couldn't save don't count for this, or I'd be much worse off...

There are few things I regret, so I have little problem with this curse.

And I'm glad to hear you're not affected too badly.

Ah...not at all enthused to be coated in the chroma of your past sins...are you, Yondaime?

Past sins? Not at all. Those I killed were enemies, nothing more. I don't regret it.

The futility of this day comes about in those who are enjoying of death and destruction glorying in their past kills and those who have killed and yet retain their decency and innocence are haunted.

...Ah. So...any murder is righteous...if you are killing in the name of your village...I guess that is what makes Konoha stand above the rest...By not realizing the true nature of the shinobi world.

..I enjoy this day immensely for those very reasons...you get to see the truest natures of all souls....and you remember such amusing things....

If you kill in the name of a village that upholds good moral standards. And you will note I did not say perfect.

Is it? I think it's very truthful, Arashi.

I agree. But I think it's futile for the fact that those who enjoy their kills are comfortable with the blood and those who did not, are not.

I agree...

Thankfully when I woke up today, the blood had disappeared. I didn't appreciate remembering every single person I killed. My arms and chest were soaked. I swear I could smell Obito...

At least it's over now. How is Naruto coping?

That wasn't your fault...

He seems better. Though I'm glad he seemed able to know that the blood kyuubi drew was not on him.

I began to wonder if any of this blood was from- if I did the right thing.
