i always think and forget the best poems while i drive.
i loved all the poems you posted today. i used to emulate your style when i first started writing poems, and lately i've moved onto bluesy-style songs. simplistic and repetitive. i've been trying to write some things with more meaning, but it's been rather liberating to write stupid shit about stupid boys that can't handle any attempt at being a man.
i have a bad habit of writing and driving. so far its gotten me a few good poems and one very totalled car. my thoughts are very lucid on the road.
i'm really glad that you like my poems, and i appreciate that you read them. its a huuuuuuge compliment to hear that you used to emulate my style... when was that? i didn't even know that anyone read my writing. do you write songs, then, or poetry? post some up- only if you want, of course, or send them to me. don't worry about trying to write things with meaning, just be real with your words. the most well written pieces are the ones where the words just fall onto the page, and its the pen writing, as opposed to a human chewing a pen and searching for words... and besides, poetry with a "deeper" meaning is usually only expressed when something traumatic has taken place. now what's really worth more, maintaining sanity, or allowing something so horrific to happen that your brain begins to spasm into black ink on paper?
when i first moved from stream-of-consciousness-type writing to poetry, in senior year of high school, i tried to think up some dark or different metaphors and the like. i typically write very light-heartedly, and i wanted to write something more substantial. i will start to put up some of my things, but most of them are very simple songs and i don't think reading them will do them justice. i'm not much of a singer, but i think i just deliver it well since the topics are intimate to me. and i love your writing, and i love when there are five nrw things to read at once.
