Personality:
The innocent country girl in the big city.
Of all the colorful personalities in the group, Emily definitely comes off as the most innocent and sweetest. Almost childlike with her kind of energy. She’s warm and very friendly, if not overly so at times. Like when she and Mike were the first ones to welcome Antonio to the team when Jayden was skeptical. But this comes off more endearing than annoying to her friends, likely due to her being the youngest and least experienced of them. She looks up to her team, kindof like a big family, and really relies on their support and acceptance.
Emily seems fascinated by all the hustle and bustle of the big city. Living most of her life in the quiet country, she's always ready to explore new things in the city that she's never experienced before. Like going to the amusement park for the very first time.
This has a lot to do with her place on the team. Unlike the other Rangers, Emily wasn’t destined to inherit the Yellow Samurai Ranger’s powers. It was her sister, Serena that was supposed to be a Samurai Ranger, not Emily. And so Emily really didn’t know of the risks or dangers she’d have to face later on after her sister became ill. Emily loves her sister more than anyone, and so she took her sister’s place willingly, even though it was forced on her. Upon taking her sister’s place, Emily promised not to cry again and become a stronger person. And so she trains hard not only to make her team proud, but her sister as well.
While one of her biggest strengths, the childish part of her can also be sortof a determent. While she has a bright and warm personality, she’s also a huge klutz. If she makes one mistake, then about five more pile up in rapid succession. She’ll try to correct them the best she can, but easily lets herself get overwhelmed. This tendency of hers has a lot to do with her being picked on as a kid. Back then, she was a klutz and a crybaby who really wasn’t good at anything. Serena would simply play the flute for her little sister and help her feel better. Serena taught Emily to not let their words hurt her, but Emily is still very harsh and critical of herself. She’s trying to be better, but seems to let herself be her own worst enemy.
At times when she’s lonely or unsure of herself, Emily plays her flute to remind her of Serena.
Powers & Abilities:
Emily is the Yellow Samurai Power Ranger, the Ranger with control over Earth. While her powers come from the Morphing Grid, Emily has also trained a few years as a Samurai. Though she is the least experienced of the group, but she can still hold her own in a fight.
What items will they be bringing with them to Discedo?
Emily will be bringing her Samuraizer, the Samurai Rangers Morpher, though it will be broken upon arrival. In her Ranger form, she has a Spin Sword and her Power Disc which attaches to the Spin Sword. Outside Ranger stuff, Emily will be bringing her flute.

The sun shone bright today. Luckily being in the city hadn’t changed how the sun felt on her skin, the warmth it brought. It was the same bright sun from home. Emily breathed in the park air. Now that wasn’t something the same as home. Guess you can’t always find the country in the city. Her mind turned to the other Rangers for a second. Really she probably should’ve said something to the others before leaving the house.
Emily reset her position again, tightening the grip on her training sword. It always felt so heavy, no matter how many times she tried to prefect her swing. After just meeting her new team, it was really apparent that she had a lot more to learn. Her form was nowhere near as graceful as Mia’s. Not as perfected as Kevin’s. Not as loose as Mike’s. Not as strong as Jayden’s. And, they must’ve seen it too.
“Serena…” Emily’s eyes turned to sword in her hands, how unsteady they were. This wasn’t her place, this was Serena’s. Her sister was the one who trained so hard for this moment, not Emily. For the longest time, all she was worried about was seeing her sister have to fight the Nighloks.
And now, here she was in Serena’s place.
Flicking her eyes back up, Emily swung the sword again. And again. And again. She wasn’t good at school or anything else really. But there were a lot of people counting on her now. The team, Master Ji, all the innocent people getting hurt, and of course Serena. Emily reset her position again, adjusting her footing a little bit more. She had to do this right. She had to be strong.
She couldn’t be that little girl who went crying to her sister whenever things got bad. Not anymore.
She was a samurai now.
First-Person Sample:
[Emily really should have been more focused on this thing she found with the note on it, but instead was working at, well, what looked like a cellphone. It was a very fancy looking cellphone. A very fancy broken cellphone, that is.]
Broken? Oh no. It can’t be broken. Maybe if I… [Trying desperately to get something to come up on the very dead screen. A few clicks was all it took to convince Emily that she wasn’t getting anywhere with this.]
I…can’t even call the others. They must be so worried right now. [Pocketing her broken tech, Emily looked around and was properly confused by her new settings. Like she didn’t have enough things to worry about already.]
None of this looks right. I know I haven’t been in the city for very long, but I’ve never seen anything like this. Did...something happen?
[What if the Nighloks took over? This is bad. This is really bad.]
I have to find everyone. Um, excuse me. If anyone can hear this, my name is Emily. I think I got a little lost somewhere. [Well obviously.] I'm looking for my friends Jayden, Kevin, Mia, Mike, and Antonio. Has anyone seen them?
It would just be nice knowing I'm not all by myself here.
