Telemarketting for charities

Charitable Telemarketting. It sounds like an oxymoron to me. Telemarketing for charity is not fundraising with a fuzzy feeling. It is a quick fix for a lazy population to feel like they are contributing by giving up some of their hard earned money. Money is not everything. For some who are called by telemarketters they are simply subversively bullied into giving by underhanded sales techniques who just want the money for their cut of the money. To me this damages the integrity of being charitable - that we can simply pay for that warm and fuzzy feeling rather than physically contributing to a cause that we emotionally care about.

In short, if you don't have time then find a charity that connects with your heart and deal with them directly to donate. Detach the leeches from charitable donations.
