Actually no, not some pretend set up where you attempt to see history. This history is just being recorded; no interpretations necessary. I am living through the biggest heatwave record in Melbourne (since recording started in 1855).
It's the third day in a row that the tempreture has pushed the themometer to and above 43 degrees celcius. That's darn hot in the sun and unbearable in an unairconditioned house. Said house was 36-38 degrees inside last night (the second day). It's hard to sleep with no reprive or fan.
Drinking has become my favourite hobby; and, no, not alccohol drinking but the desprate need to stay hydrated as I live as a moving sweat machine. I've stayed at work longer just to sit in the airconditioned room. I usually hate the feel of being sweaty, but in a way it comforting to feel it cool in the hot wind. Though I am so having a shower before bed, just to feel refreshed for a few minutes. Last night I needed a can of Pepsi on my neck to finally tell my body it's ok to sleep, I won't sweat to death, I hope.
Then again, it's so cool. Not in temperature (the change is due tonight sometime), but in the knowledge that I have experienced an event that we hopefully won't see again for a while. It would be nive to have rain and water. Humans like water. Water and other life, like plants, don't like extreme heatwaves.
Looks like it's time for me to fill up my water glass again...
