I fail at lengthy memes.
+ I haven't updated this 30 Day Meme since before Christmas. I suck. But I'm determined to get it finished, so here are Days 14 through 18.
Day 14 → A non-fictional book
I haven't read it in a long time, but Coming of Age in Mississippi is a really good autobiography about a woman who comes of age during the Civil Rights Movement. As a teen she works to help get people registered to vote during a time when doing that could get one killed. I should pick it up and reread it because it's easily been a good decade since I've read it.
Day 15 → A fanfic
I should probably pimp someone else's story, huh? If you haven't already read randomneses 60s era AU WIP "Where the Flowers Bloom", you should. Right now. If you want to read one of mine, you can click on one of the links in the sidebar. My favorite is probably "A Spring Lament". The length of my stories/chapters can get away from me sometimes, and "A Spring Lament" was my experiment with writing something short that I was happy with.
Day 16 → A song that makes you cry (or nearly)
Hmmm... I think the last time I got teary listening to something was when I listened to the acoustic version of Amy Winehouse's "Love is a Losing Game" while driving. She sounds very sad when she sings it, and I was having a bad day. So my throat got all lumpy and one of my eyes leaked a little.
Day 17 → An art piece (painting, drawing, sculpture, etc.)
An artist I am not. So I will post a link to someone else's work instead. My favorite fan artist is philotic_net. I experienced this piece first. She's also illustrated several scenes from some of my fics. She's great!
Day 18 → Whatever tickles your fancy
I must post this. I've seen it a million times, and it keeps getting funnier every single time I see it (cookies to the first person who guesses what movie that came from). So here's MissJia's f-breezy rules.
+ I missed work Thursday and Friday. The stress is really starting to affect my health. I had a migraine. A bad migraine. I NEVER have migraines.
+ OUR HEATER IS FINALLY FIXED!!! We've been freezing, making the best of it with a couple space heaters, but the heater got fixed yesterday, so WOO-HOO!
