An adjective

Childish. I hate being called that. It’s an adjective that I associate with spoiled brats that live beyond their means (or the means of their parents). They have not experienced enough of the world to be humbled by it. Suffering to them is someone else's troubles because that’s who they rely on to get them out of the messes they create - like a ( Read more... )

There's a big difference between the two and I can totally understand why anyone would get upset by being called childish.

I really envy you. To be still be able to approach life like that must be wonderful. I'm much too disillusioned and cynical...and it hurts. I hope you can keep living the way you are now and I hope no one else will give you a hard time for it.

I would hope most people know the difference between childish and young-at-heart, or perhaps relatedly, playful and upbeat. Childish as a word has a pretty negative connotation. You're not childish! :)
