Title: untitled COME UP WITH SOMETHING, FOOL.
Pairing: Yoochun-centric, hints of Jaeho, Yoosu (WHAT?!), and Yoomin
Rating: PG-13
A/N: I'm a machine.

"How much for this?" Yoochun holds up a used puzzle, not sure if all the pieces are inside. He had spent the past half hour wandering around the used book store, waiting for something to catch his eye. The woman behind the counter is missing her front teeth and flashes him a toothless grin. "For you? Five thousand won." He slides a ten thousand won note on the counter and walks out of the shop, the sounds of the woman calling out to him for his change fading, replaced by the everyday city sounds of Seoul.

It's a two thousand piece puzzle of Van Gogh's Starry Night and Yoochun wonders why the hell he wasted his money on something that he's sure isn't complete. It's nothing special, but it keeps him occupied, distracted. Stray pieces and blocks of the incomplete puzzle are scattered across the largest table he could find in his apartment; the empty beer and wine bottles still on the floor next to it instead of inside the trash can.

Jaejoong comes over with Yunho (always with Yunho, Yoochun thinks to himself as he grips onto the edge of the table, knuckles turning white) and puts a few pieces of the puzzle in the right spot. They share already told stories and forced mixed with genuine laughter over glasses of wine and Jaejoong's cooking and Yoochun doesn't have the courage to tell them that they should go to finish what they've started.

(What are you going to do when you're finished?

Take it apart and put it back in the box.

But, why? Aren't you proud of the accomplishment?

It's just a puzzle, hyung.)

Neither of them add enough and Yoochun's heart is as empty as the puzzle. They always go home together, faintly buzzed from the alcohol and fingers intertwined, leaving the heavy scent of the soon-to-happen sex to linger in Yoochun's apartment as he curls up on his bed, alone.

Junsu comes alone one, two, three nights in a row and Yoochun can't resist the advances after the third night and allows Junsu into his bed. The late morning and early afternoon is spent half naked, adding more pieces to complete the puzzle and Yoochun offers the second cup of coffee a little too late.

He never stays as long as Yoochun would like. Junsu has a brother to go home to. A family to go home to. Yoochun has one of those too, but his is thousands of miles away and he can't help but ask himself if it is really too difficult for him to be happy for longer than a night of drunken, rough sex or a lazy Sunday morning after.

Changmin visits with cheap takeaway and bad movies and Yoochun can't ever turn him away, as much as he wants to. The awkward moments continue to add up one by one by one in Yoochun's mind as he knows that Changmin knows and there isn't anything either of them can do about it.

Yoochun knows that he's probably given Changmin too much to drink as he feels Changmin's hand get dangerously close and starts to unfasten and unzip Yoochun's jeans. Yoochun knows that he's definitely given Changmin too much to drink, but pushes it out of his mind, allowing the messy, drunken kisses and erratic thrusts to cloud his mind instead. It ends with Changmin searching for a towel to clean them both up, Yoochun falling asleep immediately as Changmin's touch is feather-light against Yoochun's skin, tracing the tattoo on his back.

Yoochun wakes up to an empty bed but a completed puzzle with a note that reads, "If you destroy my masterpiece, I will kill you, hyung. ^^" and after a full pot of coffee, he calls around to have a piece of glass custom made to fit over his table to protect the puzzle.

All the pieces were there and everyone is surprised, especially him.

He goes back to the bookstore, finds another puzzle and the owner gives him an extra five thousand won back with his change, telling him she's happy that he found what he was looking for. He'll put this one together with just Changmin. Their pieces fit best anyway.
